2nd Year RoSPA Award for WHC Hire Services

WHC Hire Services, of Worcester, has won another Silver award in the prestigious RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2011.

The Silver award was presented at a ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel, at the National Exhibition Centre, on WEDNESDAY, MAY 18, 2011.

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), a safety charity, launched its awards programme 55 years ago. The scheme looks not only at accident records, but also entrants’ overarching health and safety management systems, including important practices such as strong leadership and workforce involvement.

David Rawlins, RoSPA’s awards manager, said: “RoSPA firmly believes that organisations that have demonstrated their commitment to continuous improvement in accident and ill health prevention deserve recognition. WHC Hire Services has shown that it is committed to striving for such continuous improvement and we are delighted to honour it through the presentation of an award.”

Mr James Clutterbuck Director of WHC Hire Services, said: “This is the second year we have achieved a Silver award of which I am extremely proud. This is a truly fantastic result, not only for WHC Hire Services but for all the hard work and dedication by our employees.”

The majority of RoSPA’s awards are non-competitive, marking achievement at merit, bronze, silver and gold levels. Organisations maintaining high standards can win gold medals, president’s awards and orders of distinction.

Competitive awards are presented in more than 20 sectors, and specialist awards recognise excellence in specific areas, such as the management of occupational road risk.

The RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2011 are sponsored by NEBOSH (The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health), the leading health and safety professional examining body.

Three days of award ceremonies and three gala evening dinners were held in Birmingham from May 17-19, alongside Safety & Health Expo 2011, Europe’s leading annual health and safety exhibition. An award ceremony and gala dinner will also take place in Glasgow in September

Hire Awards of Excellence 2011 - Double Winners WHC Hire Services


WHC Hire Services, of Worcester, has magnificently come away with 2 winning trophy’s in 2 separate categories at the prestigious Hire Awards of Excellence 2011 Ceremony which took place at the breathtaking Grosvenor House Hotel, London on the evening of 7 May 2011.

WHC Hire Services were up for 3 categories at the awards, on the evening winning firstly the category in Excellence in Health and Safety Management and secondly the category of Tool, Equipment and Plant Hire Company of the Year (up to five outlets).

Mr James Clutterbuck Director of WHC Hire Services, said: “This is a tremendous result for our company and winning 2 categories is truly amazing. We have a brilliant team and the fact that all their hard work and dedication is recognized makes me extremely proud”.

The Hire Awards of Excellence are independently judged and are designed to genuinely recognise excellence throughout the Hire Industry. Acknowledging the successes of the hirers and suppliers as well as those successful individuals who truly set the standard, these Awards are the industry's most sought after accolade.

The event was a major success with many citing it was the best they had ever attended.
